More on the payroll snafu

The screw-up has been downgraded to a snafu!

Here is the note Karen Thompson sent around today:
Fifth Third Bank has recently changed their on-line banking systems. We have been notified by Fifth Third Bank that they processed and sent our payroll direct deposit file twice. The bank has recalled this duplicate deposit. Depending on how your banking institution processes these files, you may or may not see any differences in the posting of payroll to your bank account. Please contact the Treasury Management office at 231 591-2157 if you have questions or concerns regarding this issue.

West Michigan Credit Union apparently deposited the checks this morning and will make the deductions this evening.

Payroll Screws up again!

Well, I was going to rant and rave, but I just got a call from Deb at payroll. My direct deposit check had not been received and when I called payroll this morning, I got a phone message saying: "If you have received a double deposit, we are aware of the problem and it will be resolved within the next 24 hours. For all other problems, please leave us a message."

So, I called a few friends and sure enough, they all got double and I got nothin! Shit, what did I tell you about retribution around here... swift and brutal. But no sooner had I called to complain than I got my double deposit along with everyone else.

So, all is forgiven. Caryn and I are heading off for New York for the weekend.
